Have you ever wondered why a lot of companies, including Apple offer multiple versions of the same product at different prices?

In many cases 3 or more options.

Just look at the iPhone 15.

iPhone 15 – $799
iPhone 15 Plus – $899
iPhone 15 Pro – $999
iPhone 15 Pro Max – $1199

So why do they have so many options?

Well, if they just had 2… let’s say the iPhone 15 and the Pro Max, the pricing would look like this…

iPhone 15 – $799
iPhone 15 Pro Max – $1199

It is such a big price jump. So big that many would just opt in for the cheapest one.

On the flipside, with 4 options, the iPhone Pro and the Pro Max don’t seem that much more expensive.

It’s the same reason movie theaters offer popcorn in 3 different sizes.

Small – $2
Medium – $4
Large – $5

The large is only a dollar more than the medium. It seems like a good deal.

If you only have 2 pricing options for your product or service and people tend to choose the cheaper one, consider adding a third option that is closely priced to the higher-end option.

It will make it seem cheaper and increase the amount of people who select it.
